Procurement Policy
The group believes that affirmative procurement is a valuable tool in developing and sustaining Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), and its contribution towards the mainstream economy.
Our Affirmative Procurement Guideline therefore seeks to ensure that, wherever
possible, products and services are secured from companies or organisations that are partially or wholly-owned BBBEE enterprises, without compromising quality standards.
In order to effectively translate this policy into meaningful and practical action, we commit to a full analysis of our discretionary and non-discretionary expenditure by EmpowerDex, the BEE rating and research agency, which allows us to set effective BEE procurement targets, and to monitor progress on an ongoing basis.
We have already set a target of procuring at least 30% of our total discretionary spending from BEE suppliers; a target which is monitored and reviewed periodically.
